Slyde |
Slyde, real name Michael Adeniregun gained instant popularity when he released his hit song 'banana'.
The artiste who got nominated as 'Rookie of the year' at the 2014 Headies spoke to Punch on January 10, 2015 where he denied that his song 'banana'
promotes premarital sex. Slyde also spoke candidly about the driving
force behind his music. Slyde revealed that his father has always wanted
him to be a musician.
"My story can be
interesting. While some fathers are apprehensive when their children
indicate interest in music, my own father was my teacher, coach and
mentor. He had wanted me to be a musician since the day of my birth.
While I was growing up, he bought so many musical instruments like the
harmonica, guitar among many others for me. So when I was becoming of
age, I promised to make my father, Mr. Adeniregun, a very proud man. My
parents were ecstatic when I began to show interest in music. They are
in full support of my career. Without them, there can be no Slyde."
When asked about education, Slyde revealed
that before his song became popular he had begun his admission process
into the University of Lagos however he will put it on hold until later.
